Our client has laboratories worldwide that depend on their products. Our client's research and development efforts are focused on breakthrough innovations in all major areas of biological discovery, including functional genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and cell biology. Our client provides essential life science technologies for disease research, drug discovery, and commercial bioproduction. They were founded over 20 years ago and they conduct business in more than 70 countries. Globally they employ 3,000-plus professionals specializing in science, research, and customer service.
Our Client is looking to employ a seasoned software engineer to join their Platform Engineering Team based in Carlsbad, CA for a SW engineer contracting position for an initial 12 month contract. The position has options to be made permanent after 12 months.
A key role initially will be to provide software support for several legacy sequence analysis software applications used by the Client's internal and external customers written in Borland Delphi environment, and subsequently, to become the key designer and developer for the Next Generation applications, porting the legacy feature set over to a newer C#/.NET environment.
Required Skills:
5+ years full software life cycle development experience in a commercial object oriented environment
5+ years Delphi Borland
3+ years C# experience, with strong GUI (Win forms) skills
3+ years SQL database experience
.NET Framework 3.0 (WPF)
Crystal Reports or SQL Reports experience
